Urgent Requests
Dear Advocates,
Thank you to all the amazing people who came out to our jam-packed fundraiser on Thursday night! Based on some new information, we now know that it is urgent that we make a bid to purchase the James Howe House and ensure that the home ceases being passed from investor to investor.
In order to purchase the James Howe House, we need two things from you:
Donations for a down payment: Please help us grow our down payment from around $25,000 to at least $40,000. Donate Here.
Offers to Guarantee a Loan: Please commit to serving as guarantors of a loan. We will need individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and churches to guarantee sums of $1,000, $5,000, or greater according to ability. Our team will keep fundraising and will do everything possible to ensure that our guarantors never need to pay anything. Without guarantors, however, we won’t be able to get a loan. Both of these requests are urgent and time is of the essence.
We have also launched a Go-Fund-Me page and we welcome you to share that with your networks. This too will add to our downpayment and ensure that the heritage of James Howe is told not sold.
